She started the day very early in the morning. 

Stars could still be seen above the maloca.

She lit the stove. 

She prepared casabe, fish, tucupí…

She fed everyone.

She went down to the river to wash clothes.  

Then she went to the other side in the canoe. 

After a long walk, under the trees she takes shelter from the harsh sun at midday.  

When the sun has gone down: she will pick lulos, dig yuca, look for edible worms and ants, and collect coca for the mambe.

El día lo empezó bien de madrugada.

Todavía se veían estrellas sobre la maloca. 

Encendió el fogón.

Preparó casabe, pescado, tucupí. 

A todos alimentó. 

Bajó al río a lavar la ropa. 

Luego pasó al otro lado en la canoa.

Después de una larga caminada, bajo los árboles se resguarda de la inclemencia del sol a medio día. 

Cuando amaine: recogerá lulos, sacará yuca, buscará gusanos y hormigas comestibles y recolectará la coca para el mambe. 

¿De dónde habrá salido esa expresión ‘el sexo débil’?
